A guild of contract killers, spies and thieves.

An assassin's guild's enterance is generally a large oak door, with a symbol (Æ with a feather under) to it's right, only assassins may enter the guilds house, they do this in a rather curious way. Each assassins carries a dagger, with which they stab the door, unlocking it. each dagger is unique, they earn this once they become fully fledged assassins.

No one knows how the door mechanism works.

This brotherhood can be found all over the world. Thei headquarters are sometimes the small rooms in a house, or a large palace.

Generally located in alleys if the town is held by people that dislike them...

As far as I know the only place where people accept them, is in the far north. No one inside the walls of "Ásùlte Æcù Rèqíē" (Fortress (of) Death Harbingers/Bringers). Etm. (Pre-1st age Elvish.) is ever assassinated, it is seen as sacrilege to taint holy ground with death.

Here are some details.

1. Where?

Assassins have hideouts. Some are famously known, like the one in the Zenotharian capital of Thebas, which is located underneath a brothel. Others, like the ones in other parts of the wolrd, are completely unknown. Each entrance has the Assassin's symbol where a dagger can be stabbed into. This dagger unlocks the door.

2. Who?

Assassins are ranked as below:

1. Guildmaster - Top dog of the Assassin Order
2. Generals - The Guildmaster's attendants, leaders of the guild
3. Assassins - Typical assassins, officers of the assassin army
4. Guardlings - Typical assassins, soldiers in the assassin army
5. Backers - Researchers, Medics, etc.
6. Underlings - Assistants to the above
7. Acolytes - Keepers of information
